Happy belated Christmas, Merry boxing day and have a snazzy New Year :)

Hello... followers?

I've had a couple of people (... well, mainly mother but we'll say a couple) mention that they think I should add a new entry or something. Desole for not posting anything sooner, this past little while has been a tad bit hectic. Perhaps you've seen some of my pictures on FB or perhaps you have not. In case you havn't I'll give you a short little synopsis:

On the second to last night my room had an 'Exculsive V.I.P. Room 111 Members Only' party with TOONNEEESS of candy (kinder surprises, gummy cows, pringles, approx. 5.35€ worth of 5cent candy and more), sparklers off the balcony, facemasks and cucumbers, a 'roomie ring' ceremony (my idea, kinda cheesy but funny... and guess who promptly lost their ring after half a week of christmas break? I think it's at Lina's... somewhere) and lots of giggles. It was grand.

Then the last day was filled with packing and cleaning... or not some much on the part of some people...followed by our last school banquet; christmas style. It was also grand. Except it was rather dark and even though it tasted good, I really only actually enjoyed my food after I took a picture and saw what it was...weird.

The next morning was saturday... the day of goodbyes. Alicia meant to wake up early to say goodbye to people but as you might guess... she slept in and only managed to say goodbye to a few. Oh well, I'll see most of them next term.Speaking of next term, theres 12 for sure, for sure new people and they said to expect up to 20... woah.

annnndd.... to be continued. Ashton finished blow-drying her hair and so we're gunna watch a movie. I'll post something new when I get back from skiing in Switzerland.

:)

yes, skiing in switzerland. I'm stoked!

love you all!
(yes, even you)

Hello Shoes.

Happy december 15!

Just thought I'd mention that it's lightly snowing outside... and it hasn't snowed since my last entry. Fancy that. In commemoration of the snowfall, enspired by my veiw out of the window at lunch, I have written a poem - I call it "the snow":

the snow
has lightly dusted
the patio
like icing sugar
on a german

crepe

Beautiful? I thought as much.

Though it is officially snowing outside (... well, really more like dusting but that throws off the point of this story) and I've been told that it's been snowing at home... I'm imagining that you're imagining the weather here as quite similar to the weather at home. Alas, it is not. At home (I'm presuming) the snow is wet and the air is quite moist, here, on the other hand, the snow is dry and the air is parched (... yes, parched). It's more of a prairie cold than a West Coast cold. It's rather unfortunate for I tend to prefer our nice wet cold to that of the ... finger cracking, lip splitting, shallownbreath giving, dry type cold.

Alright, enough with the weather. Who wants to know what I've been doing? I'll tell you. (Spoiler: If you don't want to know what I've been up to as of late, don't read any further... because you might find out!)

Today has been rather uneventful actually. Backtracking: I had lunch (as 'for mentioned in paragraph 1); a delightful meal of chili (but not spicy) and rice and bread. It would've been better with cornbread but thats okay, and I didn't have any veggies because there werent any carrots in the salad bar.. but thats okay as well. Before lunch we had lectures and Peter finished his series on "Living with Elijah" I took notes and if you are at all interested, I can send them to you.(I used multiple fonts and lots of colours so even if you find it boring... it's still nice to look at) Before lectures, I woke up.

Yesterday was quite a bit more thrilling than today. In the morning we had K-groups and because my group is so incredibly indecisive we have been attempting to take our K-group picture for about 3 weeks... and kept changing locations, times and themes.. It was getting somewhat ridiculous so we came to the agreement that we would take it "now." So, we ran out, put on our jackets and mittens and climbed a tree... in the cold.. and I took off my mittens to climb (not smart). I'm actually not sure why we chose to take it in the tree.. but we did, and it worked. Stephanie put her camera on timer instead of asking someone to take it for us, but it wasn't working.. so it took a while but we got it! It's rather distressing as 2 of the greatest personalities of our group, Jaime from San Diego wants to be a t.v. broadcast journalist (I'm not 100% sure what that means... but she's incredible and anything that involves speaking, looking pretty and being funny is perfect for her) and Micael from Argentina who thought our singteam (Beacon of truth) was 'Bacon of truth' until a few weeks ago, are leaving to go to school next semester; Jaime to Berkley and Micael to.. some school in Argentina to become a Pop Star (... no, not really. He wants to be an orthodontist.. but a pop star is far more exciting). It's sad, and we want them to stay... all univercities and colledges should officially close down thus rendering Jaime and Micael with no other choice but to stay here... that would be great. Can you guys close down Berkley before january 9 for me? Or just cancel all flights leaving from Europe to Argentina and the US... That would be great! Thanks!

Last night was also our K-Group christmas party where we had.. roucclet? ... I have no idea how it's spelt but basically its fondu on E. No.. not really, but its pretty sweet. You have all this food in front of you (like fondu) such as bacon, salmon, shrimp, pinapples, peppers, corn, sausages, ham, mushrooms... and others (not so much like fondu) and you put it in this little frying pan thing (about the shape and size of a pie scooper thing) and put a piece of cheese overtop of it (like a cheese fondu!) and then you put it in this table oven thing and wait for the cheese to melt. There were also mini potatoes to chop up and fry on top (like a stove ontop of the oven :O) and then eat either by themselves or with your cheese/ food combination... DELISH :) If you ever see one in a store somewhere.. buy it 'cus they're great! After eating we had a white elephant gift exchange.. lots of chocolate and candy. I got a mini, VERY out-of-tune xylephone... zylephone? thingy (its awesome). My K- group is fun :)

But, even more fun than K-group was yesterday afternoon.. Anna, Rachel, Ali and I went to Frieds, Anna brought her violin, Rachel, Ali and I had shakers and a tambourine, and we went and busked down town. It was fun! We sang christmas carols and spread christmas cheer to Germany. We could only stay outside for about 15 minutes or else Anna's fingers would freeze, crack and fall off... so we played for 15 minutes, went to Muller and got our white elephant gifts (... and I found a White Chocolate Kit-Kat... it as good, but really really strange) and went back outside. 15 minutes later we found ourselves in H&M... where I, surprisingly, bought nothing. Back outside for 15 minutes, went to Orsay where Anna bought a shirt... get this, it was her FIRST European clothing purchace... Mom, please forgive me for not being like Anna at all... and then we got on the bus and went back to the Bode.

How much did we make? Ah, well, we went just for fun and so really, all we wanted was to be able to cover our bus fare and these rings that we were going to get for our roommates (All 4 of us are in the 10 room btw) but we made 40Euros! Which... for 4 girls who aren't incredibly musically gifted (Not entirely true, Anna can play wonderfully.. but not when her fingers are cold... and i think my tambourine playing scared more people away than anything) it was pretty impressive.. thats like a Euro a minute. So we went expecting nothing, made enough for our ticket (8 E), rings (12 E) and came back with 5 E each.. it was great!

My sing team also took our picture yesterday.. in the cold... it's not a thrilling story.. but if you want to see one of the pictures we took, it's on facebook, just stalk my pictures and I think it's the second one that of "Pictures of Alicia Perello" ... no wait, just checked, its the first one - should be fairly easy to find if you really put your mind to it.

On sunday, 5 of us who helped cook at the Hut (Austria.. see blog ... 2 below?) went out to dinner and completely stuffed our faces (... in a graceful style) with delish expensive food courtesy of the nice 100E gift certificate given to Amy with instructions to 'take out all the helper cooks as a great thank-you for helping cook!'. I can't really tell you exactly what I ate, because it wasn't at all how I imagined it to be, but it was great! (I took pictures, they'll be up eventually) During the course of the meal, we sorted about half the student population and the others came to the agreement that I belong in Hufflepuf.. agree? or non?

We also watched Home Alone in the lecture hall on sunday... which then became the Giant Bodenseehof Living Room with comfy chairs, couches, pillows, blankets, food, mattressses and people all pilled into the room. It was great.

On saturday, the lecturehall became the "Great Concert Hall" for Advent International where we... had a concert for anybody who came. It was sweet, my sing team sang a song. Also, the entire student body sang a song... it was pretty cool.

... This is taking forever and I could write about much more but maybe you don't want to read everything so maybe I'll just add some stuff in point form...skim if you like, i wont be offended
